Expansion into Japan

  • Singapore’s Food Innovation Resource Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Japanese consulting company, ICMG Pte Ltd, to establish a Food Innovation Platform. This platform will enable local and Japanese companies to develop, test and commercialise food innovation, packaging and automation.
  • Japanese companies will also hold a masterclass programme – the Japan Food Innovation Series – which will help Singapore companies better understand Japanese food culture and learn about delivering high-quality healthy foods. They can also get tips on the Japanese consumer market and advice on entering the Japanese market.

To qualify as a Tasty Singapore Brand Ambassador, your business must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 30% Singapore ownership in terms of shareholding
  • Declaration on command and control over operations
  • FM certification: AVA Grade B and above (SG) or HACCP/ISO 22000
  • FS certification: NEA Grade B and above
  • Applicant must be brand owner
  • Annual fees of $300 for membership sign-up, $200 for annual renewal of membership

Tradeshows

Enterprise Singapore, in collaboration with associations such as Singapore Food Manufacturers' Association (SFMA) and Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), supports tradeshows such as Anuga, Food & Hotel Asia (FHA), Gulfood and Salon International de l’alimentation. Singapore F&B companies can join these trade shows to promote your products and services and expand your businesses in the region.

Support for tradeshows

Tradeshows are an important channel to reach out to overseas buyers, identify market trends and understand customers and competitors. In collaboration with Trade Associations and Chambers of commerce (TACs), local companies can tap into the International Marketing Activities Programme (iMAP) or the Local Enterprise and Association Development Programme (LEAD), which supports participation in such TAC-led activities.
