Enhancing Business Processes for Productivity

Enhancing Business Processes for Productivity is about gaining a better understanding of your current business operations through diagnosis and review of existing workflow, and designing new and/or improved ways to be more efficient and competitive. Through process review and redesign, resources such as manpower and space can be optimised, leading to increased profit and revenue streams.

From 1st June 2017, all equipment-related project cost will be supported at up to 50% for this capability area.

Supportable Activities

A project to enhance your business processes for productivity typically comprises the following:

  • Review existing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop a productivity measurement system to track and analyse company productivity levels
  • Adopt and implement solutions to automate existing operations and streamline internal processes
  • Intensify land use and improve land productivity under the Land Productivity Grant

Automation Support Package

Companies can also tap on tax and loan incentives to defray the cost of large-scale deployment of automation solutions across existing operations under the Automation Support Package (ASP).

ASP consists of the following components:

  • Grant support (under CDG) for qualifying project costs such as equipment, training and consultancy
  • Tax Incentive: 100% Investment Allowance for automation equipment
  • Loan: Up to $15 million for automation equipment. Click here for more information on SME Equipment Loan.

To apply, please submit your application under CDG Enhancing Business Processes for Productivity. Enterprise Singapore will evaluate the application and advise if you are eligible for the tax and loan incentives under ASP.

Non-supportable Activities

The following activities/cost items are not supportable under the CDG as they are considered to be operational in nature and not exclusive to capability development projects:

  • Common warehousing and storage equipment (e.g. racks, shelves, RFID tags)
  • Generic equipment/software that are not used exclusively for the project
  • Set-up costs that are essential to starting up the business
  • Equipment/software that are supported under the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG)
